On Tuesday, June 27th, 2023, at 7:25 pm, a Turlock Police officer near a residence in the 700 block of Rainer Way, Turlock, observed a suspicious vehicle and recognized one of its occupants as someone on post release community supervision, so he got out with it.

The officer had his dispatcher run the man, Shane Hamilton, 47, of Turlock, to verify his PRCS status, and it was confirmed for driving or taking a vehicle without the consent of its owner.

Hamilton was also discovered to have a suspended driver’s license due to a DUI conviction, however, he was sitting in the driver’s seat of a running vehicle.

During a subsequent PRCS search of Hamilton and his vehicle, the officer found burglary tools and drug paraphernalia.

The officer then called the on-call deputy probation officer and informed them of his findings. They found that there was probable cause a violation of PRCS had occurred, so they authorized that Hamilton be placed on a 10-day flash.

Hamilton was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of burglary tools, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended driver’s license due to a DUI conviction, and violation of post release community supervision.
