On Wednesday, March 1st, 2023, at 9:58 pm, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of Fulkerth Rd and Fransil Ln, Turlock, observed a man driving a vehicle with several equipment violations, so he made a traffic stop on him.

The officer made contact with and identified the vehicle’s driver as Anthony Griffin, 25, of Turlock.

Just before the stop, Griffin was present at a sideshow event down the street and had a Killing Cali Streets sticker on his rear windshield, the most active sideshow group in Turlock.

The officer decided that he was going to tow Griffin’s vehicle, so he conducted an inventory search of it prior. During the search, the officer located a loaded and unserialized handgun, commonly referred to as a ghost gun, behind Griffin’s seat, easily accessible to and right next to his six-year-old child.

Griffin was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of an undetectable firearm, carrying a concealed firearm, and child abuse or endangerment under circumstances likely to produce great bodily harm or death.

Griffin’s child was picked up by someone Griffin called and the Stanislaus County Community Services Agency’s Child & Family Services Division was notified of the incident.
