Man robbed at gunpoint on street Friday evening

On Friday, November 6th, 2020, at approximately 8:30 pm, the Turlock Police Department received a call reporting a robbery had just occurred involving a gun in the 1500 block of N Palm St.

When officers arrived on scene, they met with the victim, who reported that the suspect had left the location to an adjacent apartment nearby. With the information that the suspect was armed with a handgun, officers surrounded the apartment, announced themselves as police officers, and requested the suspect exit the building. After three hours of attempting to gain compliance, the suspect finally surrendered.

He was identified as Francisco Gay, 22, of Newman, and was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of robbery, criminal threats, and multiple outstanding warrants.
