Man robbed with golf club Monday afternoon

McDonald's at Tuolumne and Geer Rd. being demolished.

On Monday, August 16th, 2021, at 1:57 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported armed robbery that had just occurred at Donnelley Park, 600 Pedras Rd, Turlock.

The reporting party, who was the victim, followed the suspect, later identified as Nicolas Paul Turner, 19, of Turlock, to a nearby gas station and used a passerby’s phone to call police and report the crime.

When officers arrived, they met with the victim who reported to them that Turner had taken his cell phone while at the park. The victim then stated that when he went to confront Turner, Turner swung a golf club at him, narrowly missing him.

The victim pointed out Turner, who officers then went and made contact with. A search of Turner revealed that he had the victim’s phone.

Turner was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of robbery and aggravated assault.
