Man shot in the leg on North Soderquist Road late Friday night

On Saturday, October 17th, 2020, at approximately 10:40 pm, the Turlock Police Department received a call of a man shot in the leg at the Mulberry Mobile Home Park located at 1412 S First St. The Turlock Police Department responded alongside American Medical Response and the Turlock Fire Department with Battalion 4 and Engine 31.

The first officer arrived on scene within a couple minutes and immediately began patient care after finding a single gunshot wound to the leg awaiting paramedics’ arrival. Once firefighters and paramedics arrived on scene, they took over patient care which shifted officers to investigating. During the investigation, it was uncovered that the shooting had actually occurred two hours prior, at approximately 8:30 pm in the 200 block of N Soderquist Rd, and the victim was reluctant to report it.

When the shooting had occurred, the victim’s vehicle was shot multiple times, and one bullet travelled through the vehicle and hit the victim in the leg. Officers had received a call of a drive-by shooting in that area when it occurred, however, all parties were gone on arrival and no witnesses were able to provide any helpful information.

The victim, whose name is currently not being released, was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, and, according to a Facebook comment posted on Turlock Police Scanner from a family member, released a few hours later. The victim’s vehicle was impounded to be used as evidence in the case. Any suspect vehicle information is also not being released at this time.
