Man stabbed in the stomach Saturday evening

On Saturday, December 11th, 2021, at 5:49 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a security check in the 1400 block of Lambert Way, Turlock, after a subject who has a history of calling in reporting things that never happened called to report that he had been stabbed.

When officers arrived on scene, they discovered that the subject, a 65-year old male, was actually telling the truth and that he had been stabbed in the stomach. The Turlock Fire Department and American Medical Response were dispatched. The subject was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital with moderate non-life threatening injuries.

The victim told officers that the suspect was a neighbor that he has been having issues with. The police department does have a history of the victim and the alleged suspect in calls together.

A short time later, officers made contact with Juan Hernandez, 43, of Turlock, in the parking lot of Jack’s Barbershop, 1153 W Main St, Turlock, to see if he knew anything. The victim did not tell officers that Hernandez was involved, however, officers had seen him in the area of the stabbing when it occurred and had noticed tiny specs of red on his clothing which they believed to be blood.

Officers were unable to prove that Hernandez was actually involved, however, he had a felony warrant out for his arrest. Hernandez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrant. Further investigation will be conducted to see if he was actually involved in the stabbing or not.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 40s that is tall and thin. He was accompanied by two middle eastern males.
