On Sunday, April 30th, 2023, at 2:15 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported vandalism that had just occurred at Caddy’s Hair Studio, 245 S Golden State Blvd, Turlock, with the suspect being detained by the business.
When officers arrived on scene, they began investigating and determined that the suspect, Alonzo Gayton, 40, of Visalia, had been having a bad day and got angry as he walked past the business because a child was getting a haircut, so he threw a brick through one of its windows.
The business owner estimated that the damage caused was less than $400, making it a misdemeanor amount and not allowing officers to make an arrest because it wasn’t committed in their presence, so the business owner made a citizen’s arrest.
Gayton was arrested and released on a citation on the charge of vandalism.
