Man wanted in felony assault case arrested after being recognized by off-duty officer Friday morning

On Friday, January 13th, 2023, at 11:03 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported suspicious person at QuikStop, 1260 Geer Rd, Turlock, after an off-duty officer had spotted a man who he recognized and believed was wanted.

When on-duty officers arrived on scene, they found and made contact with the man, Guillermo Hernandez, 32, of Turlock.

When officers had their dispatcher run Hernandez, it was confirmed that he was wanted by the Turlock Police Department for an aggravated assault case. It was also discovered that Hernandez was a sex offender who was out of compliance with his terms.

Hernandez was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of assault with a deadly weapon other than a firearm, exhibiting a deadly weapon other than a firearm in a rude or threatening manner, vandalism, failure to register as a sex offender, and violation of post release community supervision.
