At about 3:43pm Saturday afternoon, Turlock Police responded to a weapon offense that had just occurred at N. Tully Road and W. Canal Drive.

The caller reported that after the incident, the suspect fled northbound on N. Tully Road in a black Mercedes-Benz sedan.

While enroute to the call, officers Duncan and Alberti located a matching vehicle at Grant Avenue and Florence Street. They attempted to stop it, however, it took off from them and a pursuit ensued.

The vehicle drove around the neighborhood before going southbound on N. First Street, while blowing stop signs at speeds in excess of 65 miles per hour.

Officers then lost the vehicle somewhere near S. First Street and D Street.

A short time later, officers Croxen and Ruiz located the vehicle parked in front of a residence in the 200 block of G Street.

The vehicle was unoccupied but left unlocked. The firearm was nowhere to be found in it, but a loaded magazine was.

The victim knew the suspect and was able to name him. He was discovered to be a convicted felon, prohibiting him from possessing firearms and ammunition. He is currently wanted on several felony charges.
