Man with ammo and eight warrants arrested during suspicious person contact early Monday morning

On Monday, July 17th, 2023, at 3:59 am, a Turlock Police officer near Wayside Market, 735 Wayside Dr, Turlock, observed and got out with a suspicious person in the alleyway across the street from the business.

The officer made contact with and identified the man as Rudy Flores, 55, of Merced.

At some point during the contact, Flores was found to be in possession of ammunition.

When the officer had his dispatcher run Flores, he discovered that he had a $2,155 misdemeanor bench warrant out of Stanislaus County and seven local infraction bench warrants for violating the Turlock Municipal Code. Flores was also discovered to be prohibited from possessing ammunition.

Flores was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, as well as his warrants.
