On Tuesday, November 29th, 2022, at 1:37 am, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported sick person at Venice Motel, 1114 N Golden State Blvd, Turlock, where a man was overdosing.

Officers arrived on scene first and found a man later identified as Jose Santana, 29, of Turlock, with a pulse but unconscious. Officers quickly administered Narcan, an opioid-reversing agent, which woke Santana up in less than two minutes.

Officers had their dispatcher run Santana and he returned with a no bail local felony bench warrant for burglary, theft, and obtaining and using personal identifying information of another person for an unlawful purpose.

Santana was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital and he was discharged in less than an hour. Officers were staking out the hospital waiting for Santana to exit, and when he did, they arrested him.

Santana was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on his warrant.
