IMG_1286-1

At about 8:58pm Saturday, Turlock Police Officer Aziz made a bicycle stop at Paul’s Food Mart in the 1200 block of Geer Road.

Aziz made contact with and attempted to identify the bicyclist, who gave a false first and last name but his true date of birth.

When confronted, the bicyclist continued to lie and stated he was being truthful.

The bicyclist then gave up his true middle name, and he was able to be identified as Jovani Serrano, 25, of Modesto, using that and his date of birth.

When Aziz had his dispatcher run Serrano, he discovered he was on probation out of San Joaquin County for receiving stolen property and a missing person out of Modesto.

Aziz placed Serrano under arrest for lying about who he was and a search incident to arrest led to the discovery of methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia.

Serrano was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of falsely identifying to a peace officer, possession of methamphetamines, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
