On Wednesday, June 7th, 2023, at 5:47 pm, a Turlock Police officer near Auto Zone, 1272 Geer Rd, Turlock, got out with four suspicious men after he had learned that they had refused to leave the property after being asked to by the manager.

The officer identified the four subjects, including Claymond Short, 32, of Dixon.

When the officer had his dispatcher run the four, he discovered that Short had a $20,000 misdemeanor bench warrant out of Stanislaus County for drawing or exhibiting a deadly weapon other than a firearm in a rude or threatening manner.

Short was arrested and a search of his person incident to arrest led to the discovery of a concealed dirk or dagger.

Short was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of carrying a concealed dirk or dagger, as well as his warrant.

It should be noted that Short has a thing with brandishing knives and carrying them concealed on his person. He was arrested in the same parking lot less than a month ago for pulling a knife on someone and threatening them with it. At that time, he stated that he had a “license to carry weapons on file” because his family was being held for ransom, even though those don’t exist for knives.
