On Thursday, June 29th, 2023, at 11:41 pm, a Turlock Police officer near Starbucks, 3000 Geer Rd, Turlock, noticed a trailer in the alleyway with a license plate that didn’t belong to it, so he got out with it.
The officer knew that the license plate didn’t belong on the trailer because it returned to a 2007 Four Winns trailer, however, he was looking at a newer IMAGO trailer.
The officer began inspecting the trailer for a vehicle identification number, however, all of its VIN placards had been removed. The officer eventually located a hidden VIN and when he ran it, discovered that the trailer had been reported stolen out of Merced.
Early that same morning, the same officer had contacted Jonathan Seeger, 33, of Waterford, in his truck which was parked next to the stolen trailer.
The officer called Seeger on the phone and told him that he couldn’t leave his truck blocking the alleyway, so Seeger responded to the scene.
When Seeger, arrived, the officer questioned him about the trailer and was able to link it to him.
Seeger was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on the charge of buying or receiving a stolen vehicle.
