Ménage Concert in Turlock Saturday Night

Tonight at Grizzly Rock Café and Grill, located at 4905 Golden State Blvd, indie/rock band Ménage will be playing a free concert. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase at the Grizzly Rock, and the show will start at 9pm.

Ménage, from Asheville, North Carolina, delivers a mix of soul, swing, pop, country and the blues. The band has shared the stage with nationally and internationally appreciated groups, such as The Snake Oil Medicine Show, Donna the Buffalo, The Blue Rags, the Avett Brothers, The Duhks, Spin Doctors front man Chris Barron, Chris Isaak, and Stella Parton.

According to the band’s website, they describe their original music as a combination of influences such as Patsy Cline country, Nina Simone soul, Bob Wills western swing, Tom Waits jazz, Pretenders rock, B52’s pop, and Jimmy Reed blues.

Founding members Sarah McDonald, “the swanky wordsmith” who plays the guitar and banjo and sultry vocals, Mary Ellen Bush, “the sophisticated growler” who plays guitar, harmonica, and bass, fronts the band. The band also features Matthew Kinne on electric guitar, and Matthew Roberts on the drums.
