Message from the Turlock Chamber of Commerce, Representing Business

The Turlock Chamber works to pomote a positive business enviroment in the Greater Turlock area
 
The Turlock Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to representing the interest of business with government and engaging in political action.
 
In 2008 the Turlock Chamber’s Governmental Relations Committee:
 
  • Endorsed Prop 1A; alerted membership; helped organize a joint letter from Turlock, Modesto, Merced, Stockton and Sacramento Chambers supporting the measure to local news organizations. Prop 1A carried in Turlock.
  • Endorsed No on Proposition 2; joined with Business Alliance in joint opposition statement. Proposition 2 failed in Turlock.
  • Endorsed and campaigned for Measure S (county sales tax for transportation); organized endorsements and city walks. Measure S passed by the 2/3rds margin within Turlock, but failed by 300 votes countywide
  • Endorsed two candidates for Turlock city council. One was lead vote getter in election. The other was defeated.
  • Endorsed winning candidate in county supervisors’ race for Turlock area.
  • Endorsed Veteran’s housing bond measure: Turlock supported measure.
