The Don Pedro Recreation Agency has announced that the water level at Don Pedro is now sufficient to reopen the unimproved water boat facility at the Moccasin Point Recreation Area.

The low water unimproved ramp’s grade is still too shallow for launching deep hulled boats, but it is usable for launching shallow draft boats.

Moccasin Point ramps closed in July 2014 following dry weather. The launch ramp at Fleming Meadows has remained opened and is available for all types of boat launching.

The unimproved low water launch ramp can be accessed by driving from the Moccasin Point Recreation Area entrance station to the regular boat launch ramp, and then taking the roadway to the left at the base of the regular launch ramp.

Don Pedro offers a full slate of outdoor activities including boating, waterskiing, wakeboarding, fishing, and swimming.
