At about 4:44pm Tuesday, Turlock Police Officer Ayala attempted to make a traffic stop at E. Hawkeye Avenue and Colorado Avenue.

Ayala was attempting to stop a motorcycle with no license plates attached to it.

The motorcyclist took off from Ayala and a pursuit ensued, westbound on E. Hawkeye Avenue and southbound on Geer Road.

Due to speeds reaching 70mph and the motorcyclist riding against traffic, the watch commander decided to terminate the pursuit.

After the termination of the pursuit, a witness reported seeing the motorcycle pull into the Turtle Creek II Apartments in the 1200 block of Pioneer Avenue.

Ayala responded to the apartment complex and located the same motorcycle, obtaining its VIN. The bike hadn’t been registered since 2016 and was out of Ceres.

After obtaining a warrant to impound the motorcycle for 30 days, Ayala returned to the apartment complex early the next morning and served the warrant. It was towed away.

The motorcyclist has yet to be identified.

The investigation remains ongoing. Anyone with information that could assist is encouraged to call Officer Manuel Ayala at 209-668-1200.
