Motorcyclist Hospitalized in Lander Accident

Wednesday morning’s accident on Lander Avenue, in which a motorcyclist collided with an SUV, sent the motorcyclist to the hospital.

The motorcyclist, Derek Trousdale, told TurlockCityNews.com that he had surgery Wednesday to repair his ankle. Trousdale also suffered a broken finger and some road rash, but said “it could've been way worse.”

The accident occurred when the driver of the blue Honda Pilot allegedly “slammed” on their brakes while traveling southbound on Lander Avenue, just before Greenway Avenue.

The SUV stopped because of road work up ahead, according to Trousdale. Trousdale said he didn’t have enough time to stop from colliding with the Honda.

California Highway Patrol has not been able to confirm Trousdale’s recollection of the accident.

The accident snarled traffic in both directions of Lander Avenue, with northbound traffic taking a detour at Greenway Avenue, until the collision was cleaned up.

No other injuries have been reported at this time.
