Motorcyclist nearly dies at scene after colliding with two parked vehicles at alleged high speeds early Saturday morning

On Saturday, June 25th, 2022, at 12:58 am, the Turlock Police Department, Turlock Fire Department, and American Medical Response were dispatched to a reported vehicle collision with injuries at the intersection of Fosberg Rd and Sunbird Dr, Turlock.

When crews arrived on scene, they found three vehicles involved. One was a red Honda motorcycle, one was a black Lexus SUV, and the other was a black Toyota pickup truck. The red Honda motorcycle was in between the other two vehicles, which were parked along the east curb of Fosberg Rd at the intersection facing northbound, with the black Lexus SUV in front and about two feet of space between the two.

The red Honda motorcycle had a single occupant, its rider, who suffered major injuries and was ground transported by American Medical Response to a local hospital. The first arriving officer originally found him partially underneath the black Lexus SUV. He was breathing at the time but then stopped, requiring the officer to pull him out and begin chest compressions. He began breathing again a short time later and care was taken over by paramedics upon their arrival. His current condition is unknown. The other two vehicles were parked and unoccupied.

The red Honda motorcycle sustained major damage and was deemed inoperable as a result of the collision, requiring it to be towed away. The other two vehicles sustained minor damage and were left parked at the scene.

It is currently unknown how the collision occurred, however, a witness reported that the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision.

The investigation remains on-going.
