Turlock High School Students Gear Up for School Year

Turlock High School completed its two-day Round Up event, which traditionally signals to students and parents that summer is just about over.

Textbook/Audio & Visual Clerk Kristin Bettencourt said she and a staff of four dedicated student workers spend the entire summer gathering, repairing and preparing 11,000 textbooks to hand out to Turlock High students at Round Up.

During Round Up, students turn in their paperwork or signature cards, take their yearbook photos, and receive their class schedules and ID cards.

“Round-Up is about doing everything we can do to make sure the most amount of students are ready to go day one of school,” said Bettencourt.

Sophomore Bobby Marchy said Round Up is a good time to reconnect and begin focusing on the school year.

“It’s great to see friends I haven’t seen all summer and it’s fun to get your classes and get ready for school,” he said.
