TUSD Board To Hold Public Meeting Oct. 7

The Turlock Unified School District will hold a public meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 7 at the Professional Development Center, located at 1100 Cahill Ave.

Wakefield Elementary School student Lillian Escobar will provide the inspiration to open the meeting and fellow student Jaqueline Vazquez will lead the flag salute. Both were selected as TUSD Character Counts students of the month for the character trait of “trustworthiness.”

Public comment is scheduled to be open at 6:52 p.m. and TurlockCityNews.com has learned several parents will address issues with the TUSD’s Common Core plan.

On the consent calendar the Board will consider approving donations of $7,000 from the Turlock Ag Boosters for the Turlock High FFA Club and $8,282.40 to TUSD for repairs on an Ag Truck.

Also the ShadowChase Running Club will donate $500 to the THS Cross Country team.

At 7:05 p.m. the board will hear information on the Turlock Schools Child Nutrition to Launch California Thursdays, a program to promote California and locally-grown foods in schools.
Lastly the board will hear a THS Modernization Update.

Adjournment is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
