On Monday, June 13th, 2022, at 4:09 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported weapon offense in progress in the 800 block of Julian St, Turlock, after a man had been spotted in the middle of the roadway next to two vehicles holding a small black revolver.

As officers arrived on scene, they observed a black BMW sedan being driven by who was later identified as Michael Garcia, 20, of Turlock, obviously attempting to strike who was later identified as Anthony Chaney, 23, of Turlock, the man who allegedly had the revolver.

Garcia was eventually able to strike Chaney with his vehicle. Chaney landed on Garcia’s windshield and held on as Garcia fled eastbound on Julian St.

Officers conducted a high risk stop near the intersection of Grant Ave and Chestnut St where they detained both Garcia and Chaney for further investigation.
