New Air Conditioner Replacement Program Available

TURLOCK – TID has developed a new program to help customers save money and energy. The new air conditioner replacement program provides a $500 rebate for residential customers who replace their existing central air conditioning systems or heat pump systems with a high efficient unit that meets the program requirements. In addition to the rebate from TID, customers may also be eligible for up to a $1500 federal tax credit.
While replacing an older unit with a newer, energy efficient model may involve some significant up-front, customers can enjoy a sizeable return on investment over time with lower energy bills, while also doing their part to help reduce energy usage and improve the environment. It also means keeping the air conditioning repair denver schedule regular to help keep them going for longer.
Today’s most efficient air conditioners use 30 to 50 percent less energy to produce the same amount of cooling as systems made in the late 1970’s, according to the U.S. Department of Energy. Even if your unit is only ten years old, you may save 20 to 40 percent on your cooling bills. TID recommends you consider a new high efficiency system to save energy and reduce your energy costs. Alternatively and with the aid of an Air Conditioning Carnegie service, you can also have regular air conditioning inspection to ensure that your system is in good working order. Some air conditioning systems can waste energy if they are broken, in need of cleaning, and have various other issues. Over time, the program is expected to reduce daily peak electricity demands caused by air conditioning load.
The TID rebate is in effect for qualified systems that are installed from June 16, 2009 through December 31, 2010. The rebate application and program requirements are available online at www.tid.com or by calling TID Consumer Programs at 209-883-8432.
