Off Duty Officer Helps Turlock Police Arrest Auto Burglary Suspects

With the help of an off duty officer, Turlock police was able to arrest a trio involved in an auto burglary early on Monday.

The incident was reported by an off duty officer, from an agency other than Turlock Police Department, around 1:30 a.m. on Monday.

According to Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Stephen Webb, the off duty officer saw a vehicle leaving the 1000 block of Edwards Drive and noticed a door to a neighbor’s vehicle was open.

He believed the fleeing vehicle had been involved in an auto burglary, so he called the Turlock Police Department and followed the vehicle until Turlock police officers arrived and located the vehicle on the 2400 block of N. Berkeley Road, said Webb.

A search of the vehicle revealed stolen property, some of which had not been reported; the victims were called to identify which property was stolen, said Webb.

Chad Ware, 32, Paige Stolarik, 20, and Tommy Rhodes, 25, were all arrested for possession of stolen property.
