At about 9:29pm Thursday night, Officer Khounlivong located a stolen vehicle parked at Quik Stop in the 1200 block of Geer Road.

A high-risk stop was conducted where the vehicle’s two occupants were detained in handcuffs at gunpoint.

The vehicle’s driver was identified as David Dabbs, 38, of Stockton.

When Khounlivong had his dispatcher run Dabbs, he discovered that he was on probation for stalking and had a no-bail felony warrant out of Merced for violation of post release community supervision.

During a subsequent search, methamphetamines were located.

Dabbs was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of driving or taking a vehicle without the consent of its owner, receiving stolen property, and possession of methamphetamines, as well as his warrant.

Dabbs’ passenger hadn’t committed any crimes and was released, while the vehicle was towed away as officers were unable to get ahold of its rightful owner.

This was the third occupied stolen vehicle recovery by the Turlock Police Department within the same week, and Officer Khounlivong’s second.
