Officers Arrest Two While Looking for Wanted Suspect

Two men are in custody after officers searching for a wanted suspect came across a felon and a suspect with a stolen vehicle and methamphetamine.

An officer believed he spotted a suspect wanted for a local felony warrant in the 100 block of Minaret Avenue at approximately 11:32 a.m. on June 16.

The officer allegedly had prior knowledge of a residence on the block where the subject had hidden before, and officers responded to that location.

Officers did not find the suspect, who remains unnamed at this time, but were able to locate and contact Bob Lefevre, 40. Lefevre allegedly had an active felony warrant and was arrested for that warrant.

While still in the area, officers were able to arrest a second individual on drug charges.

Anthony Leyva, 23, was allegedly jumping fences to avoid contact with Turlock police.

Officers were able to apprehend Leyva shortly afterward and found that he was allegedly in possession of several grams of methamphetamine. Leyva also had allegedly driven to the location in a stolen vehicle.

Leyva was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, receiving stolen property, and resisting arrest.

Both Leyva and Lefevre were booked into the Stanislaus County Jail.
