Pair of Juveniles Steal Wallet from Woman at McDonald’s

A pair of juveniles were caught by Turlock police Thursday afternoon after allegedly stealing a wallet from a woman at McDonald’s.

According Turlock police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis, the woman was eating near the play area at the McDonald’s, located at 2400 Geer Rd. when two juveniles — ages 15 and 9 — were in the area with the woman.

When the two juveniles left McDonald’s, the woman checked her purse, which was near her while she was eating, said Lewis, and found that her wallet was missing.

She suspected the two juveniles took the wallet and ran out after them, yelling at them to bring it back, said Lewis. A passerby noticed the woman calling for the juveniles to bring back her wallet, so he followed the suspects to an apartment on the 100 block of East Minnesota Avenue.

When the good samaritan caught up to the juveniles, he asked for the wallet and the 15-year-old girl allegedly punched him in the chest, dropped the wallet, and both juveniles fled, said Lewis.

Turlock police responded to the area at approximately 1:28 p.m., and were able to locate the juveniles at the Dollar General at the corner of Geer Road and Minnesota Avenue.

Officers contacted the juveniles and issued them juvenile contact reports, Lewis said.

The wallet was returned to the victim and the good samaritan was not injured, according to Lewis.
