The clutter of vehicles surrounding the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds is enough to let Turlock residents know that the fair is in town. While parking may seem like a nightmare to those wishing to attend the fair, there is hope – the Park ‘n Ride shuttle, a free transportation service offered by the Stanislaus County Fair each year.
In 2012, the Stanislaus County Fair had over 13,000 guests ride the Park ‘n Ride shuttle, which allows guests to park for free at either Pitman High School or California State University, Stanislaus. Guests who use the Park ‘n Ride shuttle will be dropped off and picked up directly in front of the Stanislaus County Fair’s Arch Gate entrance.
The free shuttle service runs nightly throughout the 10-day run of the Stanislaus County Fair, from 4:30 p.m. to 12 midnight Monday through Friday, and from 11:30 a.m. until 12 midnight on Saturdays and Sundays. Shuttles depart every fifteen minutes.
The parking and shuttle location at CSU Stanislaus will be located on Crowell Road, between W. Monte Vista Avenue and Ansel Adams Boulevard.
Pitman High School’s shuttle location is in the main parking lot at the campus, located at 2525 W. Christoffersen Pkwy.
When traveling on Highway 99, fair guests should use the Fulkerth Road exit to drive directly to the fairgrounds. To reach the Park ‘n Ride shuttle locations from the highway, guests should take either the Taylor Road or Monte Vista Avenue exits.
The Park ‘n Ride shuttles are not wheelchair accessible. Handicapped parking is provided in both the West and North parking lots on the fairgrounds.
Fair guests can park in the Fairground’s North and West parking lots for $5 per vehicle.
