On Saturday, April 8th, 2023, 12:54 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported battery in progress at The Grand Cru, 130 W Main St, Turlock.
As an officer arrived on scene, the suspect was pointed out to him as he was walking away eastbound on W Main St. The victim was a security guard who wanted prosecution, so the suspect was contacted and detained in handcuffs.
The suspect was identified as Michael McIntosh, 39, of Merced, and it was discovered that he was on parole for vandalism.
When McIntosh was placed in the back of a patrol vehicle, he became belligerent, attempted to kick out the patrol vehicle’s back window, and prevented officers from closing the door on him. McIntosh eventually calmed down once he spoke with a sergeant.
The victim security guard signed a citizen’s arrest and officers called McIntosh’s parole agent to inform him of what had occurred. The parole agent found that there was probable cause a violation of parole had occurred, so he authorized that McIntosh be placed on a hold while awaiting a parole revocation hearing.
McIntosh was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of battery, public intoxication, and violation of parole.
