Parolee arrested after being caught driving stolen vehicle Friday morning

On Friday, September 23rd, 2022, at 7:21 am, a Turlock Police officer near Ken’s Big Bear Car Wash, 1075 N Golden State Blvd, Turlock, observed a vehicle traveling southbound on N Golden State Blvd which he recognized as one that had been reported stolen the previous day, so he made a traffic stop on it.

The vehicle’s driver, later identified as Thomas Rodrigues, 38, of Turlock, pulled the vehicle into Ken’s Big Bear Car Wash and immediately exited. Rodrigues was detained in handcuffs for further investigation.

When the officer had his dispatcher run Rodrigues, he returned to be on parole for burglary.

Ultimately, Rodrigues was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of auto theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, and violation of parole.
