On Sunday, January 8th, 2023, at 6:18 pm, a Turlock Police officer near Motel 6, 250 S Walnut Rd, Turlock, was conducting extra patrol when he recognized a parolee on the property.
The officer confirmed that the man, Larry Richards, 54, of Ceres, was still actively on parole and then observed him entering and exiting a room.
The officer contacted Richards in the room and conducted a parole search, which led to the discovery of methamphetamines and paraphernalia.
The officer called a parole agent and reported to him what he had found. The parole agent found that there was probable cause a violation of parole had occurred, so he authorized that Richards be placed on a hold while awaiting a parole revocation hearing.
Richards was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of methamphetamines, possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of parole.
