Parolee arrested while riding around with ammunition, narcotics, and child Wednesday night

On Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022, at 10:23 pm, Turlock Police investigators near the intersection of Sixth St and D St, Turlock, observed a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so they made a traffic stop on it.

The investigators made contact with the vehicle’s driver and identified him as Jose Lugo, 51, of Modesto.

The investigators had their dispatcher run Lugo and he returned to be on parole and not have a valid driver’s license.

A parole search of Lugo’s vehicle was conducted which led to the discovery of live ammunition and narcotics.

Lugo also had a child in the vehicle with him who was picked up by his mother.

Lugo was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, child abuse or endangerment under circumstances other than those likely to produce great bodily harm or death, driving without a valid driver’s license, and possession of a controlled substance.
