At about 9:29pm Wednesday night, Turlock Police responded to a disturbance at the Walmart in the 2100 block of Fulkerth Road, between a customer and employees.

Officers arrived on scene and contacted security, who pointed out the involved customer.

As officers made contact with the subject, they noticed that he was displaying objective symptoms of being under the influence and was unable to care for himself.

When officers attempted to handcuff the subject due to his erratic behavior, he took off on foot and a brief foot pursuit ensued.

The subject was eventually arrested and able to be identified as Manuel Samano, 30, of Modesto, who was discovered to be on parole for threatening to commit a crime which will result in death or great bodily injury to another person.

Turlock City News previously reported on Samano brandishing a knife at family members and running from officers October 1st at The Palms Apartments. During that incident, Samano was apprehended using less-than-lethal rounds and a TASER, which he attempted to grab.

Officers called Samano’s parole agent, who authorized that he be held until a parole revocation hearing can take place.

Samano was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of resisting a peace officer, public intoxication, and violation of parole.
