Each year, a large number of graduate and undergraduate students at California State University, Stanislaus work diligently to be considered for the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi – a prestigious national society that recognizes superior scholarship of students who exhibit academic excellence.

At 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the campus community and the public are invited to the CSU Stanislaus quad to hear the reading of the names of both undergraduate and graduate students and faculty who have been invited to join the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

At the event, member and professor John Mayer will read the names of the students who have achieved academic excellence, and will be joined by Phi Kappa Phi officers and other faculty members.

Admission to the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is invitation only and requires nomination and approval by both the chapter at CSU Stanislaus and the national society.

The top 7.5 percent of juniors and top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students at CSU Stanislaus are eligible for nomination after a thorough account has been taken of each student’s grade point average, amount of units completed, and citizenship status.

During the week of April 29, various presentations will take place at the university campus for an official Phi Kappa Phi Week. On May 3, CSU Stanislaus Interim President Joseph Sheley will give a presentation to the members of Phi Kappa Phi and the nominated students.
