On Tuesday, September 14th, 2021, at 12:30 pm, a Turlock Police officer assigned as Pitman High’s School Resource Officer was assisting with the search of a student’s backpack who suspected to be in possession of a controlled substance and was sent to the dean’s office of Pitman High School, 2525 W Christofferson Pkwy, Turlock.

During the search, the officer came across a Glock .380 caliber handgun and immediately detained the student in handcuffs. When the officer conducted a stolen or wants check on the Glock, he learned that it was stolen.

The student, who was a 14-year old Hispanic male, was arrested and booked into Stanislaus County Juvenile Hall on charges of possession of a firearm at a school and possession of stolen property.

It is currently unknown if the handgun was loaded or not.

The school was not placed on lockdown as it was not warranted with the School Resource Officer immediately taking possession of the Glock in the dean’s office.
