The No. 1 ranked Pitman Pride Girl’s Volleyball team (41-1) defeated the No. 2 ranked Pleasant Grove Eagles of Elk Grove (30-8) to win the youthful school’s first Sac-Joaquin Section Division I team Championship yesterday at the University of California, Davis campus.
It was an epic comeback win for the Pride, who won three sets to two, taking the first set 25-20 and then falling behind after losing sets two and three, 22-25 and 23-25, respectively.
The Pride took the fourth set 25-15 and secured the championship with a 15-12 win.
