Police investigate two shootings at The Vista Apartments early Monday morning

On Monday, November 1st, 2021, at 1:03 am, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to reported shots fired near the clubhouse at The Vista Apartments, 900 W Monte Vista Ave, Turlock.

Officers arrived on scene to chaos within the complex and began to search for where the shooting had occurred. While doing so, a local hospital called to report that they had just received a gunshot victim with a non-life threatening wound to his elbow who confirmed that he had been shot at The Vista Apartments.

Eventually, officers were able to locate the scene, which was just east of the clubhouse and had several shell casings.

At 2:33 am, while officers were still investigating the original shooting, they heard a second one occur within the complex. Officers ran towards where they believed the shots to be coming from and ordered two subjects to surrender. Those two subjects were identified as Jared Ruben Rosas, 18, of Modesto, and Christopher Lee Henderson, 31, of Merced. Rosas complied and was immediately taken into custody without further incident, while Henderson resisted and led officers on a short foot chase and fought them before he was ultimately taken into custody as well.

Rosas was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and willfully discharging a firearm with negligence, while Henderson was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of resisting an executive officer with violence.

No injuries were reported during the second shooting.

The investigations remain on-going.
