On Saturday, April 3rd, 2021, at approximately 4:30 pm, a Turlock Police officer was traveling eastbound on W Canal Dr approaching N Broadway when another vehicle that was travelling westbound on W Canal Dr made a left turn directly in front of the officer’s vehicle causing a collision. Other officers responded along with American Medical Response and the Turlock Fire Department’s Battalion 4, Engine 31, Engine 33, and Engine 34.
Other officers, firefighters, and paramedics arrived on scene shortly after and began assessing the scene. The involved officer, Officer Amaranta Jimenez, complained of hip pain and was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital, where she was later released. The driver of the other vehicle also had a complaint of pain but refused medical aid.
