Two calls came in to report the shots fired on the 600 block of Park Street at approximately 6:16 p.m. on Saturday.

Officers who arrived on scene and witnesses reported that a red “boxy-type” Jeep Cherokee and a white Toyota, later identified as a white Mazda, drove by the street and fired shots into the air.

At this time, it is unknown which vehicle fired the shots, said Turlock police spokesperson Lt. Ron Reid.

Shortly after the reported shooting, the Turlock Police Department received report of a subject with a gunshot wound at Emanuel Medical Center.

The victim was a 14-year-old male who suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his thigh, said the Turlock Police Department.

According to the Turlock Police Department, the victim was dropped off at the hospital in a white Mazda, believed to be involved in the shooting. The Mazda had a bullet hole, said Reid.

The driver of the Mazda was identified as Louie Moreno, 18, and arrested at Emanuel at approximately 8:06 p.m. after it was found that the vehicle was stolen.

The Jeep and its occupants have not been located at this time.
