At about 6:55pm, Turlock Police responded to a weapon offense at Central Park, located at S. Golden State Boulevard and Main Street.

There had reportedly been a fight between several subjects which resulted in someone bleeding from the elbow, and the caller said that the subjects also had a knife and hacksaw.

Officers arrived on scene and contacted the involved parties, however, no arrests were made, presumably because no one likely wanted to be a victim of anything.

At least 2 of the 3 people had history with the Police.

One of the men and the woman with red dyed hair left Central Park, walking down W. Main Street and then onto S. Broadway Avenue.

Downtown District, Homeless Epicenter:

The Turlock City Council and City Management Staff have created a homeless, transient, and vagrant epicenter – and open-air drug market – in Downtown Turlock.

However, at the last Council Meeting, Mayor Amy Bublak and Councilwoman Pam Franco didn’t want to allocate needed funds to maintain the Downtown District while making it clean and safe.

They were comparing Downtown needing funds (CITY property, and were the CITY created a HOMELESS EPICENTER) to Monte Vista Crossings (included in business models for profit, and where the CITY WON’T put a homeless shelter) not needing funds.

The Turlock Downtown Property Owners Association (TDPOA) was formed by property owners who vote to pay an assessment fee (extra “tax”) on their square footage to HELP the City maintain the City’s property.

The City has not fulfilled some of their duties the last 10 years and so the property owners are proposing raising their own fees to take care of the problems, BUT the City Management level staff is not wanting to put the requested funds toward the efforts of making Downtown clean and safe – and now Mayor Bublak and Councilwoman Franco have also made critical comments toward matching the property owners’ efforts to make Downtown clean and safe – even though Council and Management created negative impacts toward a revenue generator, the property owners, and community gathering destination.
