Pursuit Ends in Crash After GPS Locates Suspect

The suspect in a theft attempted to flee police before crashing into concrete cylinders in front of the Public Safety Facility, leading to his arrest.

Dillon Cole-Jones, 21, was arrested for possession of stolen property, felon in possession of a firearm, and evading officers.

According to Turlock police spokesperson Sgt. Stephen Webb, Cole-Jones had stolen property from the victim’s vehicle on Sunday afternoon.

The victim of a theft had been tracking their stolen items via GPS and were able to help locate the suspect.

Officers responded to the 200 block of Thor Street, where they located the suspect.

Upon arrival, officers saw the suspect placing a rifle into the trunk of his vehicle, reports the Turlock Police Department. Cole-Jones immediately got in the vehicle and fled, said Webb.

A pursuit followed until the suspect crashed on the 200 block of North Broadway, where he was apprehended and arrested.

There were no injuries, however there was some property damage to the concrete cylinders in front of the Public Safety Facility, said Webb.
