On Friday, June 10th, 2022, at 11:44 pm, a Turlock Police officer near the intersection of N Golden State Blvd and W Hawkeye Ave, Turlock, observed a vehicle violate the California Vehicle Code, so he attempted to make a traffic stop on it. When the officer activated his steady burning red light and siren, the vehicle failed to stop for him and a pursuit ensued northbound on N Golden State Blvd.

The vehicle turned westbound on W Tuolumne Rd and then southbound on N Tully Rd, however, the officer lost the vehicle and terminated the pursuit as he was not able to turn onto W Tuolumne Rd fast enough to see it turn onto N Tully Rd.

Assisting officers that were coming southbound on N Tully Rd were flagged down by witnesses who stated that the vehicle turned eastbound on Shadow Park Dr after the pursuit was terminated.

Officers checking the area found the vehicle in the 1700 block of Noble Ln crashed into another vehicle and abandoned. Witnesses told officers that the suspect had fled on foot westbound on Noble Ln just prior to their arrival. He was described as a heavy set white male adult standing at about six feet tall wearing a black shirt. The area was checked, however, he was not located.

Back at the collision scene, an innocent bystander in a black Acura sedan had broadsided the suspect vehicle, a black BMW sedan, pushing it into a tree.

No injuries were reported.

Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were towed away from the scene.

The investigation remains on-going. Anyone with information that could assist in the investigation is encouraged to call Officer Colton Bickle at 209-668-5550 extension 6311.
