Railroad Work Snarls Downtown Turlock Traffic

|

Visitors to Downtown Turlock were greeted by some very slow moving trains Monday morning, blocking intersections and snarling traffic.

The trouble all traces back to a railroad crossing signal in need of maintenance, according to Union Pacific Railroad spokesperson Aaron Hunt. While the crew was working on the downtown signal crossing, trains were required to move much more slowly than usual for the workers' safety.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused Turlock residents,” Hunt said.

Traffic was back to normal by approximately 10:30 a.m.
