Reported larceny from hardware store results in narcotics sales and felony warrant arrest Tuesday night

On Tuesday, October 18th, 2022, at 8:43 pm, the Turlock Police Department was dispatched to a reported larceny in progress at The Home Depot, 2800 Countryside Dr, Turlock.

When officers arrived on scene, they made contact with two men, including Matthew Marchino, 34, of Escalon.

A search of Marchino led to the discovery of narcotics which appeared to be for sale.

Marchino lied about his name, however, his true identity was discovered shortly thereafter. When the officer had his dispatcher run him, he returned with a $150,000 felony Ramey warrant out of Escalon for domestic violence inflicting corporal injury.

Marchino was arrested and when informed of that, claimed to be having a medical episode because he had taken narcotics.

Marchino was transported to a local hospital where he was medically cleared.

Afterwards, Marchino was booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale and false personation, as well as his warrant.

The other man was released.
