Turlock City Fire Department responded to a structure fire in the 2100 block of Mayfaire Drive on Monday at 2:14 p.m.

 Firefighters arrived on scene to find a garage fully inflamed in a heavy fire and spreading throughout the house and a parked vehicle in the driveway. 

Turlock Firefighters deployed multiple hoselines and started knocking down the fire and limiting the fire’s spread to neighboring residences, and entered the residence to continue battling the fire spreading into the attic.

“[TFD] Conducted vertical ventilation on the roof in coordination with interior crews to remove heat, smoke, and to assist with fire attack. Firefighters brought the fire under control while limiting fire spread into the residence and protecting surrounding homes” Reports Captain Kevin Tidwell.

All occupants escaped the fire without injury prior to the fire department’s arrival. Two residents have been displaced as a result of the fire and Red Cross is working to assist the family.

Turlock City Fire Department responded with two engines, Squad 32, Utility 5, a battalion chief, the Fire Marshal, and the Interim Fire Chief. Ceres Fire Department responded to the incident with one engine and a battalion chief. Turlock Irrigation District and PG&E responded to assist with securing utilities and an AMR unit responded to provide medical care to possible victims and provide firefighter safety. Turlock Police Department assisted with traffic control while a second Ceres Fire Department engine and Turlock Rural Fire District provided city coverage during the incident.
