Routine Traffic Stop Yields Several Pounds of Marijuana, Loaded Firearm

A pair of suspects were arrested on drug charges Thursday night after officers found several pounds of marijuana during a routine traffic stop.

Turlock police officers observed a vehicle run a red light at the intersection of Dels Lane and Hawkeye Avenue at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Officers conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and located a loaded handgun and drugs in the vehicle, reports the Turlock Police Department.

Several pounds of marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia that indicated that the suspects had the intent to sell the drugs, reports the Turlock Police Department.

Both suspects in the vehicle, Jeffrey Larsen, 30, and Omar Lopez, 21, were both arrested and booked for possession of a loaded handgun and possession of marijuana for sales.
