Shooting – 600 Block Ninth Street

TURLOCK, CA – On August 17, 2008, at approximately 10:06pm, Turlock Police received several reports of shots fired in the area of Ninth Street and “F” Street in the City of Turlock. As several police officers responded to the area, Turlock Police received another report that one individual had been shot in the midsection.
Officers arrived to find that a victim had been shot at least once in the upper torso area. The victim was identified as a Hispanic male adult approximately 40 years old. The victim was airlifted to an area medical facility.
Turlock Police Officers secured the scene and requested assistance from the Turlock Police Detective Bureau. Investigators arrived and determined that multiple shots were fired from an undisclosed caliber handgun.

This shooting appeared to take place near a party that was occurring in the 600 block of Ninth Street. The motive appears to revolve around money that that victim allegedly owed. Turlock Police Investigators are actively following up on several leads. An involved vehicle has been described as a grey Jeep Cherokee with custom rims.
