Shooting Advisory: Turlock Cinema Plaza

Turlock Police Department, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department, and California Highway Patrol are currently on scene at the Turlock Cinema Plaza as a possible officer involved shooting has occurred.

Witnesses reported that several gun shots were heard on Tuesday night, around 7:30 p.m., in the parking lot near Starbucks located at 2201 West Main Street.

“We had multiple agencies in the city of Turlock investigating a narcotics investigation, during the course of the investigation there were shots that were fired,” noted Turlock Police’s Public Information Officer Steve Rodrigues.

No law enforcement were injured during the shooting.

According to Officer Rodrigues, two subjects were shot. One subject was pronounced dead at the scene and another subject was transported to nearby hospital.

The parking has been blocked off and a number of police and law enforcement vehicles are at the scene.

A taped-off crime scene reaching wide, from east of the movie theater to across Turlock Poker Room on the west, and then south toward Starbucks, has cars trapped in the area and can’t leave until evidence is collected and investigated.

Patrons of the nearby businesses are being interviewed.

No identities of any person involved in the shooting have been released.

No further information is currently available.The investigation is ongoing.
