Shooting/Robbery on Main Street

On Sunday at around 1:50am, the Turlock Police Department received multiple calls reporting that a female had been shot behind businesses in the 400 block of E. Main Street.

Officers quickly responded and stopped a fleeing vehicle arresting the driver Steven Sawyer, a 29 year old male from Patterson. 

This is an active investigation and Detectives are following up on further leads on additional possible suspect(s). 

While conducting the investigation, it was discovered that a female and male victim were robbed at gunpoint behind the bar. “During the robbery, a female victim was shot. She was transported to a local hospital, and her injury is non-life threatening” stated in a release by Turlock Police Department Crime and Community Information Analyst Deandra Wiley.

At this time, this is still an active investigation and no additional details will be released. 

Steven Sawyer was booked into the Stanislaus County jail for robbery, possession of a loaded firearm in a vehicle, and possession of a stolen firearm.
